About Dark Horse tutor:
Dark Horse is my nickname. It is someone who works hard and is an unexpected winner. I strive to be this for you! I came to Canada at the age of 14 years old, had to study English from scratch, but within 2 years I was fluent in English. My high school English teacher gave me the nickname Dark Horse and honored me with an “A”-grade in English, which was 81%. After that, I attended University of Toronto and completed a 4 year degree. I studied psychology, sociology and linguistics at UofT, which required me to read around 300 pages per week of studies, in English of course! I wrote a tremendous amount of essays and never had marks removed for English mistakes. After my university I was involved in volunteering in a free ESL class and worked to help international students for over 15 years.
If you are curious, I also worked at Scotiabank, answering phone calls and speaking English with customers for 6 years. I have a love for languages and studied Spanish for 2 years and Korean Hangul for 1 semester in university.
