My name is Jo Abbess, and I am a CELTA-qualified private English tutor in London.

I will ask you to do a self-assessment using the CEFR - Common European Frame of Reference. Then, depending on your level.
I will use games and role play to help you to learn vocabulary, pronunciation, and word stress in the English lessons. I can share the Survival English toolkit with you, to help you with important enquiries. I can show you how to use a Polite English toolkit to help with everyday dialogue and social events. I can also introduce you to Negotiation English to help you with reaching decisions with other people; and Interview English to help with formal conversations.

I am the author of a book on Renewable Gas. My undergraduate studies were in Physics, and for my masters degree, I studied Climate Change Management. I have had a career in engineering and Information Technology.
