Hiroyuki Charles Machida, born in 1981 in Japan, received his theatre training inNanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Singapore from 2004-2008. In 2009, he uprooted toChina. Awarded a full Chinese government scholarship, he studied at the China Academy ofArt, Hangzhou and obtained a Master in Fine Art (oil painting) in 2013. He is a PhDcandidate in intermedia art and has been working on themes in which to combine the artswith media. Currently Hiro makes creative documentaries and archival videos for museums andartists, among which is one on the historical art and making of Chinese porcelain pots inLongquan Village for Zhejiang Provincial Museum. He had also filmed for Zhejiang ArtMuseum a series on the vanishing folk art of Zhejiang Province, and the 2013 HangzhouTriennial Fiber Art Exhibition. In Singapore, a notable project he worked on was the Night Festival 2013 which involvedoutdoor night filming of exciting acrobatic acts, fashion catwalk and street performances. Healso documented the colourful retrospective exhibition of well-known Hong Kong fashiondesigner Tim Yip for The Esplanade. Given the broad expanse of his training and expertise in the various fields of art and artistic expression, Hiro is dedicated to putting to practice his creative skills for the benefit, betterment and development of your organisation.
