I imagine about the time even before the life began.
How strong was the light?
How quiet was the darkness?

We were born in this world and started to live with the nature,
receiving its blessing and coexisting with its power,
and being the nature.

People have treasured the nature
and the nature has always been with them.

Even here in the city, even now in this global age,
if we listen,

I believe we see.

本音楽イベント『自然を聴く』は、沖縄民謡（八重山民謡）及びジャズを主体とし、語り及び展示と併せて実施されます。
本イベントの取り組みは、世界各国において芸能を通して伝承されてきた自然讃歌を、ニューヨーク市のコンテンポラリーミュージック及びアートとして追究するものです。
本イベントは、日本芸能とアメリカ文化、伝承文化と現代アートの融合を実現するものです。皆様のお越しをお待ちしております。

共催：ニュースクール大学Tishman Environment and Design Center（ティッシュマン環境デザインセンター）

This music event will be held together with storytelling and exhibition.
The music will be in the style of Southern Japanese traditional (Yaeyama minyo), Jazz and experimental.
Both standard/traditional and original compositions will be played.
The theme of this event is to pursue and realize celebration of nature, which has been passed on through music, dance and art all around the world from the ancient time, in a contemporary setting here in New York City.
Listening to Nature is supported by Tishman Environment and Design Center of the New School.
