Yuriko Kotani is originally from Japan, decided to try performing comedy following her move to the UK. Why? Because it was the last thing she could imagine herself doing. A lot of her comedy is based upon the difference between the country of her birth and her adopted nation of the UK. Her set showcases the beauty of culture differences by addressing culture clash humorously. Yuriko demonstrates that comedy can reunite cultures to overcome their incompatibilities.

Yuriko was named as "One To Watch" by Time Out in 2015. She went on to become first runner up in So You Think You Are Funny in 2015, won Brighton Comedy Festival Squawker Award 2015, won the BBC Radio New Comedy Award 2015.
