My name is Kamila and I'm an English teacher with 5 years experience from Tokyo, Japan. I used to teach English 1-on-1 full time at GABA eikawa, and also through private lessons. My clients were men and women of various ages (the youngest was 14 and the oldest was 65), backgrounds (salarymen, office ladies, homemakers, university students, hobbyists, freelancers, etc.) and various English levels (from beginners to advanced).
I am a kind and a patient teacher and I am able to teach natural English. I come from Poland, but I have lived for many years in London and I studied English and intercultural education in Sydney and Berlin. I have also completed a special TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course. I have travelled a lot and I understand that good English skills are very important for work, for travelling and for communication with people all over the world.
I understand Japanese mentality and character very well. I have many Japanese friends and I have always been very interested in Japanese culture: books, films, art, crafts, zen, cuisine, etc. Regarding teaching, I know the Japanese education system and I am familiar with the mistakes Japanese people do. I taught English to people who studied it to make friends, who wanted to improve conversation skills, travel stress-free and communicate with foreigners. I have also a lot of experience teaching business English to people who needed English for work, to communicate with international colleagues, who had to be transferred to another country, or who wanted to pass the EIKEN exam. I prepared business people for job interviews in English and students for study abroad programmes.
I am a flexible teacher, responding to your needs and interests. I am very easy-going, punctual and always very well prepared for the lesson. I can provide feedback from my Japanese clients if you want.
